How it works
Passport is a connector (an MCP server) that assistants can call to recall and save context. You decide what each connection is allowed to do.
Add Passport as a custom connector, then approve it in your browser. You pick one namespace (like Personal or a project) and the categories it may read and save.
When the assistant calls Passport, it gets the cards it's allowed to see. Facts you state in allowed categories save automatically. Anything else, anything that looks like a secret, and anything inferred is skipped.
Activity shows what was returned to or saved by each connection. Edit, undo, resolve disagreements, change permissions, disconnect, export, or delete your account at any time, on any plan.
What Passport can't do. Assistants decide when to call Passport, so connecting doesn't guarantee that every fact is saved or recalled. Passport doesn't read your chats, doesn't change a tool's own built-in memory, and can't take back what a tool already received.
Supported tools
Passport is being built and tested first with Claude: Claude on the web and desktop, and Claude Code. Other assistants can connect where they support custom MCP connectors, within the limits their makers document.
| Assistant | Where | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Claude | Web, desktop | Read and save through a custom connector. Available on Free and paid plans; Free allows one custom connector. Set it up on a computer; connector setup on mobile is in beta. |
| Claude Code | Terminal | Read and save as a remote HTTP MCP server. Asking explicitly ("save this to Passport") is the most reliable. |
| ChatGPT | Web | Read and save documented for Business, Enterprise and Edu in Developer mode. Pro is documented as read-only. Not documented for the mobile app. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm each save. |
| Gemini | Spark | Custom MCP apps for eligible English-speaking US adults with personal accounts and Keep Activity on. Ordinary Gemini chats don't use Passport. |
| Anything else | Copy and paste | Build a manual packet in the app, review exactly what it contains, and paste it in. |
Plan details come from each provider's published documentation and can change. See setup help.
Where your cards live
Passport chat
Passport chat answers with Anthropic's Claude models, running on Amazon Bedrock. It works like any other connection, with its own permissions: it can only see synced cards you allow, and each answer shows how many cards were sent with your message.
Use Continue a project to get a short recap of the decisions, constraints and next steps you've saved, then pick up where you left off. Conversations are stored on your iPhone; the server doesn't keep a transcript.
